In case you didn’t notice, work has begun again on the
conversion of Main Street to two-way traffic. The east side of the street had
all its trees, signage, and light standards removed last week and construction
crews began tearing up the street this week. The project is scheduled to be
completed by June, July the latest, and has been reported to be right on
schedule.
Earlier this week a load of brand new trees was delivered to the
site for placement on the nearly completed west side of the street. The brand
new light standards were put in place on the west side of the street several
weeks ago and are in good working order.
It appears that the construction on Main Street has attracted
some new recent tenants. World Trade Center Buffalo Niagara took up space on
the block at 725 relocating from their Delaware & North location. Also new
on the block is BCG Property Management at 723, Avalon Document Services at
721, and now under construction at 715 is the future City Wine Merchant space.
These
recent tenants will compliment the other additions on the south end of the 700
block over the last year including Zoom Copy, Chow Chocolat, and Hair to go
Natural.
