Young Audiences, in conjunction with Arts Partners for Learning, is hosting the 7th Annual Patricia Cotsen Arts Abilities Conference. Arts and cultural community representatives, educational program leaders, and human service providers will come together to learn about best practices in arts and cultural education.
The theme for this year’s conference is “Reaching Everyone: Differentiated Instruction Through The Arts,” which intends to address the wide-range of learning needs in today’s educational settings. The conference will also address arts integration with Common Core Learning Standards. Overall, the goal for this conference is to explore the importance of arts education through the theory of differentiated instruction.
Headlining the event will be keynote speaker Andrea Moore of Andrea Moore Arts. Andrea is a creative activist and artist. She uses writing, performance, and photography to foster connection and dialogue across social and cultural lines.
Participants can register for four additional, hands-on workshops. All workshops will be led by community organizations participating in the Arts Partners for Learning initiative, including: Buffalo Architecture Foundation, Buffalo & Erie County Public Library, Buffalo State College, The Buffalo Zoo, Burchfield Penney Art Center, Interweb Consulting, Roycroft Campus, Shakespeare in Delaware Park, Squeaky Wheel, and Young Audiences of Western New York.
