Wachob and D’Aquino create custom skin art as masterful as the oil paintings and intricate graphite miniatures that, when the shop’s closed, they create and regularly ship to art galleries across the country.
To be tattoo artists also accomplished in the more conventional art world seems second nature to the two. They tattoo during the day and when the shop’s closed, go home and hole up in their separate studios. D’Aquino works in small size, on blank inside covers of old strike-on-front matchbooks, or yellow bits of antique paper, for his detailed graphite drawings. Wachob works mostly in oil on canvas but also does mixed media pieces in the ethereal, pop-surreal style.
Both have been featured in various tattoo magazines. They have also racked up some serious trophies and commissioned works. Amanda and Jason own Blue Moon Tattoo at 1279 Hertel Avenue.
