The Buffalo News building can sometimes look a bit ominous. I admit that since I've never been inside, other than stepping through the doorway for a couple of seconds, I always wondered what it was like. The building definitely has 'man behind the curtain' look to it. Well, this was a fun photo to wrap up the Halloween week. Did you know that Harold Arlen, born on February 15, 1905, was from Buffalo? He was the composer who wrote the film score for the "Wizard of Oz", "Over the Rainbow" sung by Judy Garland.

Few private citizens can claim awareness of the growing pet population like Robin Johnson can. Johnson owns and operates Vilardo Printing at 326 Connecticut Street and since she took over the business in 2001, she has started rescuing stray and abandoned cats. For Johnson, it started out as one cat, but then it became two, then four, and well, as Johnson puts it, “you know how it goes. There were always cats around the city and when you take in one cat, you always have a gazilli …
Work started on returning two-way traffic to Main Street's 700 block on Monday. Yesterday, Avalon Development made a strategic purchase on the same block where it has been working since 2001. The development company headed by Chris Jacobs acquired 715 Main Street at the northeast corner of Tupper. The highly-visible building contains 6,110 sq.ft. of space with coveted rear parking along Washington Street. Plans for the building are not known.
If you're into science and you're looking to support the Museum of Science, then you don't want to miss this awesome event. Actually, the Museum of Science has been hosting a series of unique gatherings in recent years, but it is the Museum's Attic that actually gets you into places that not many people will ever get the chance to see. The museum's collection is so vast, that at any given time there is a fraction of items showing to the public. Even when exhibits rotate, that only …
Now we're talking... this Sunday (2pm-5pm), 250 incoming Medaille freshman are going to be heading down to the Commercial Slip. It's a joint effort between Medaille College and the Buffalo Tours program. Hopefully this trip will be just one of the many waterfront excursions that these students take during their time spent at the college. Not only will the students learn about the waterfront and the surrounding architecture, they will also be shown where they can catch the Metro Ra …

Hey, Here's the Caption:
The "Yellow-Journalism Bricked Road."
Okay, okay, I'm sorry...and I don't mean that, but it was necessary. It's just so obvious a caption, and that William Randolf Hearst was the father of Yellow Journalism... the picture and the offer to caption-name it is irresistable.

Toto too?
In the next picture, Warren Buffaet is the Wizard behind the curtain, eh?
