The 28th Annual Buffalo Hellenic Festival
Don't forget that this weekend is The Helenic Festival Come down and enjoy musicians and dance troupes in authentic ethnic attire while munching on some really incredible homemade Greek recipes that have been passed along through many generations. This really is an interesting cultural event for the entire family. It takes place @ the corner of West Utica and Delaware Avenue. So get ready for some popular favorites, including souvlaki, saganaki (flaming cheese), spanakopita, pastichio, mousaka, gyra, Tzoutzoukia (homemade Greek sausage) with rice pilaf, Greek salad, and rice pudding. Oh, and you can't leave until you have tried the incredible baklava!

Help Re-Tree Buffalo
After the 2006 October snowstorm, Re-Tree WNY was established with the goal to restore the 8400 trees that were destroyed in Buffalo during the October 2006 storm. Re-Tree WNY has been gradually climbing towards their goal with 2,730 trees currently planted in Buffalo and a plea for organizations to join Re-Tree WNY during their planting this November of 2,000 trees.

Reducing Take-Home Vehicles
With gas prices on the rise, it's no surprise that Mayor Byron W. Brown announced a 41 percent reduction of take-home vehicles used by City of Buffalo employees. This reduction means there will be 50 take-home vehicles available, instead of the previous 85.
