Success For B West!

With so many diverse artists, it’s amazing that they managed to get a piece from every artist into the front room. That very room offers the perfect front window for showcasing an assorted collection, day and night, to passersby. We all know this window to be especially alluring at night as it lights up the sidewalk along Elmwood. Staying true to the Allentown Art Fest spirit, the opening had a great turnout of admirers and artists alike. Displaying mediums ranging from bamboo ink on paper to mixed media found objects, and many in between, you're going to have to check this one out for yourself.

Laurie Tanner Director of B West Studios, set out with the call to artists, saying it was, “An invitation to anyone with creativity into the space. Not everyone has a voice verbally, but they might have a voice visibly and creatively. We are not art critics, we are not looking at resumes.”
Buffalo native A.J. McGuire who has several original print works exhibited said, “I thought it would be interesting to be in a show with other local artists, as well as helping charity. And being in a studio on Elmwood during the [Allentown] Art Festival is pretty sweet.”

I must insist, Buffalo art lovers, go check out the new exhibit at B West Studio. Enjoy the breath of fresh air being offered to the alternative art scene in Buffalo. With resumes and credentials tossed aside, this cozy gallery is offering something special in the form of an audience to local artist with visual voices who may have thus far, been soft spoken.

Together, they have scrapped together funds to combine their talents and create a unique production based on the four humours.
The four humours was a theory of the makeup and workings of the human body that began with Greek and Roman philosophers. The …

In the March issue of BR, an image was used for the article of the Buffalo Club that led to the introduction to Dr. V. Roger Lalli, and his photo-realistic watercolors of Buffalo.
At 86 years of age, Dr. Lalli is a dynamic and passionate supporter of Buffalo as both the great city it once was, and the new one he sees dawning. He seems particularly well situated to tell his Buffalo story through his artwork, his role as an educator, historian and impassioned supporter of the cit …

This is a great addition to the Allentown scene. And the no-resume policy will give newcomers a chance to display based on their art alone. We have friends whose daughter has a lot of talent but is just starting out. Now three of her pieces are in the current show. It's a big boost to her morale, and a chance to get her stuff before the public. She's not quitting her day job, of course; but this is a big deal to be displayed at B-West. I hope the Studio does very well.
