Salutations To Buffalo!

Grigory Ksendzov, Roberto Morales and Marcelo Salinas were on a quest to locate Buffalo's best tequila . That wasn't the main reason this trio came from Russia and Mexico to hang with the locals this past week.
Rich Products Corp, one of Buffalo's key staples, held it's first (and hopefully annual) global sales and export meetings. Marketing and Sales Managers traveled to Buffalo from around the world in order to gain a better understanding and share their knowledge of international business as it pertains to Rich Products. In 2005, Rich Products Corporation celebrated 60 delicious years as a family-owned company. Founded in 1945, Richis is known around the world as the founder of the non-dairy segment of the frozen food industry and a leading supplier and solutions provider to the food service, in-store bakery and retail marketplaces. As one of the worldis premier family-owned food companies, Richis posts annual sales exceeding $2 billion.
The global guests stayed at the Hyatt and had some time to explore, shop, and eat in some of Buffalo's best restaurants. Grigory, Roberto & Marcelo are shown here at Mothers on Virginia. Marcelo actually told me that he has not seen the libation in hand (Jose Cuervo Tradicional) anywhere else in the United States. I was never a huge tequila fan (I usually need a tomato juice chaser) so I couldnt really confirm if that is actually true. I must say that after being educated by Roberto and Marcelo on tequila etiquette (Grigory from Russia was being a team-player) the high quality tequilas have a nice taste.
I was fortunate enough to cruise some of our guests around Buffalo and educate them on our culture, architecture and other Queen City trademarks. They all communicated to me (in one form or another) that Buffalo is home to some of the nicest people on the planet. I agree and hope Sandy Ingrando (Rich's Marketing Manager and coordinator of this event) reads this article and starts planning for next year!

Ever since ArtVoice broke the news about the suspicious ousting of West Side housing activist Harvey Garrett from the board of West Side Neighborhood Housing Services, everyone has been wondering: What will happen next? Will this stick? Will there be some kind of investigation? When will the other shoe drop?
One dropped yesterday. In a letter to board Chairman Ramon Morales, Assemblyman Sam Hoyt announced his intention to pull his legislative initiative funding from West Side …
Four games in 6 nights certainly marks a rough patch in a schedule, and the Buffalo Sabres showed what kind of toll it can take by losing to the Nashville Predators 2-0 on home ice.
To be fair, both teams played an uninspired game from start to finish, which makes sense when you consider that the Predators played 3 games in 5 nights. There were few exciting scoring chances on either side of the ice and the game's pace was both stilted and broken. It was likely due to the coache …
From Hoss: "Is Kabob and Curry opening at the old Mondo location on Elmwood, or Main? I haven't been to their primary eatery on Transit, but I hear they serve the best Indian food around."
Kabab and Curry will open in about two weeks at the former Mondo Video location... approximately mid-December. I understand that it will be more of a take-out operation than the existing restaurant located on Transit Road. It appears as if the Transit eatery attracts a lot of university student …

This past week, I sang at Lafayette Avenue Presbyterian Church, located at the corner of Elmwood and Lafayette, as part of the Elmwood Village Association's holiday tree lighting ceremony. It was the first time I ever sang my very personal song, “Who Wants To Cry At Christmas,” in front of the public. There were about 80 people gathered to hear me and my piano-playing friend Johnny Juarez present our “Chri …

Tomato juice chaser? Isn't that what the Lord of the Underworld drinks? The toughest part about drinking these tequilas is the sipping part... yes?

You should try the single village Mezcals at The Coda. I fell in love with them at Blue Ribbon in NYC and finally found them for my bar.

actually sipping a high end tequila is pretty easy....i really didn't need the beer chaser (in mexico the proper way to drink tequila is a sip of tequila followed by a sip of beer)......lord of the underworld drinks tomato juice?...lol...i'm not sure...never have been a huge sci-fi- harry potter kinda guy......i'll definitely have to head over to coda and check out the mezcals....queenseyes..you in?
