Let's give some credit where it's due. Rick Snowden bought the Miller Mansion (the former Nichols Middle School) in April 2004. He paid close to $1 million for the 12,000 sq.ft. masterpiece on Nottingham Terrace overlooking Delaware Park. He's added this to the property.
According to Business First, he spent over $50,000 for this custom fountain. But he didn't hide it in his back yard, but put it out front for everyone to enjoy. Good for him and better for us! Some may calling it showboating, but I call it awesome!

Picture this scenario; you are a fly on a wall in a major company and you are watching the president read the cover letters of possible employees. I think that it is great, while others are rushing out of the city and state men like Snowden have the vision and foresight to go where others fear and they do it by putting their money where their mouth is. The last time I checked Mr. Snowden was running a legitimate business that is licensed by the state and I presume that he must pay a boatload of taxes on his business not to mention the property tax that he must pay on that mansion.
Kudosi to you Mr. Snowden.

The Snowdens are a nice family. Regardless of what people think of how he has made his money, Mr. Snowden has a track record of buying older properties and making them beautiful. (See his last home on Main St. in Hornell, NY.) I'm not saying that I'd like a strip bar on every street corner, but humans will always have vice. He could do worse things with his money.

I think this guy and his good looking wife are good for buffalo. Whatever work he does pays taxes to Erie county. Their house also pays taxes. I hope thay stay and maybe one day I'll get to meet them.
