My Favorite Buildings

Story Options

This one is on Virginia Street just east of Delaware. All I can say is wow! This building has all kinds of romance and mystery and its dark coloring gives it an edgy spookiness. It originally housed a photographer's studio and once had a large skylight running up the long sloped roof. Tell tale signs of this skylight can still be seen if you look closely. I believe the building is currently used for offices.

If you ever have the opportunity to see in side I recommend jumping on it. The interior is a spectacularly exotic solon of gilded middle eastern inspired detail. On my wish list for this building is that the owner restore it to like new condition. It truly deserves to be in much better condition. I would also like to see the building and parking lot to its west replaced with something a bit more sophisticated and urban.

I've peeked through the windows of this mysterious beauty numerous times. It looks to be even more exotic on the inside - I would love to see the whole thing. I might just have to pay a visit during working hours to see what I can see...

    Steel,

Thanks for highlighting this building. I've been really intrigued by this building. If you get any interior shots please post them!!! I'm glad that a neigboring building was rehabbed in the past year or so and turned into higher end rentals.

Awesome structure. But they''ve got to replace that aluminum storm door (see lower right entrance).
