Music at Hardware

Hardware is featuring a group of five old-school Latin musicians--all on acoustical instruments--playing music known as SON.
It is SON that was played by the Buena Vista Social Club and SON that was the predecessor of Salsa and Merengue. The group, called la Calle Niagara, rarely plays out so their appearance at Hardware this Wednesday may be your only chance to see this unique and wonderfully enjoyable musical event.
The show starts at 9PM and is free.

As for his music, here is an excerpt from Radford's take on Gallo: This is not experimental music made for the sake of experimentation. As Gallo explains, improvisation is …

Submission by Lukia Costello who recently exhibited her work at the I Shot Lucy show.
I am an artist, and I understand how tiresome it is to be asked to donate your work. When we artists donate, we are really donating three times: with our materials; with our time and inspiration; and with our finished piece. Most times, beyond the gratification that comes with doing something kind and good, there is little in return with respect to exposure for our art. I have donated many, many …
For Amy Taravella, this weekend means her solo in what took two years to accomplish. Together, they have scrapped together funds to combine their talents and create a unique production based on the four humours.
The four humours was a theory of the makeup and workings of the human body that began with Greek and Roman philosophers. The …

When I first discovered Buffalo Rising, I really enjoyed Mark Goldman's occasional articles, and podcasts with Lydia. It would be great if you could get Mark back for the occasional post - if he can find the time between ferreting out these great acts, and selling hardware ;-)
More Mark!!
