Have you run 25 Turkey Trots?
As many of you know the Adidas Delaware Y Turkey Trot is the oldest continuously run road race in the country. Since it's been around so long, the YMCA (Delaware) is looking for anyone who has won the race in the past, or has run at least 25 Turkey Trots, they don't have to be in successive years. Run Time Services has been timing the race for 24 years, any records beyond what they have on their computers are sketchy at best.
If you fit either of the above categories please contact the Y and let them know. Recently Run Time Services compiled a great list of their data for this race. It lists every runner, the year that they ran and their time and overall place. If you ran multiple races, all of your information is listed together by your last name. It's great to look back at your performances and see the highlights you have had running this great event. Just click on the link below to check it out. I've also supplied the link for the on - line registration. - Dan @ Fleet Feet
Bring your registration to Fleet Feet and you'll receive an Adidas Sack Pack (while supplies last) and you'll be entered in a drawing for one of ten pairs of Adidas shoes. Keep your race number and bring it into to Fleet Feet in December and receive a discount of any Adidas item in our store.

Labor Day – for many, a day of family picnics and get-togethers, fun and laughter, good food and good times. The Buffalo Zoo is all too aware of the way families enjoy each other companies on this day in the warm weather for one last time as the summer ends. So to help families out, they’re making get-togethers easier by lowering admission prices and discounting food items.
For just a dollar with a coupon on September 1st, visitors will gain regular admission to the zoo. The …
Don’t like what your neighbor is proposing for their property? Buy it. That is what just went down on Rumsey Lane. Sue Ann Simonin received City approvals to tear down a 1940’s ranch at 25-27 Rumsey (entry image) in anticipation of constructing her dream home last year. Her plans for the new residence ran into a buzzsaw of neighborhood opposition but finally received the necessary approvals to build in April. On Thursday she sold the site to an adjoining property owner. …
Here's something to ponder over the weekend. The Route 5 debacle has just snagged a spot in the organization Project for Public Spaces' Hall of Shame. After reading RaChaCha's post on the Ten Great Qualities of a Great Street (criteria from PPS), a couple of members of the organization (who saw the post) flew into Buffalo. RaChaCha and I toured them around and showed them all of the Cobblestone District advancements as well as the area in and around the Commercial Slip. When they …
Carl Paladino is shaking it up once again, and next to the calling for the toll barriers to come down, this may be a hit with the general public.
"I'm asking our legislative candidates to vote for a Constitutional Convention," Paladino said. "This can happen every twenty years, the last time being 1996, but it hasn't been done since 1938."
Paladino's objective, he says, is to get both houses to vote by majority for a referendum on the ballot. This, he explains, would put to vo …
