Farewell Old Friend

The Aud will be gone soon. But that doesn’t mean you can’t take a piece of it home with you. Don’t miss the opportunity to own a piece of Buffalo history at the Final Salute Weekend, set to take place at the Buffalo Convention Center.
At this weekend’s party entitled “Farewell Old Friend,” the classic blue seats will be available for direct purchase. That means no bidding wars or auction anxiety for you to worry about. But there are only 600 available, so get there early.
And it isn’t just a sale; it’s a celebration with former Buffalo sports greats. You’ll get to hang out with Sabres alumni, including the French Connection, Danny Gare, Matt Barnaby, Rob Ray, Larry Playfair, Floyd Smith and more. Former Buffalo Braves Randy Smith, Ernie DiGregorio, and Dolph Schayes. And don’t forget about players from the Buffalo Bisons, Bandits and Blizzard.
The sale begins Saturday, November 15th from noon to 4. Then picks up again from 6-10, and on Sunday from 12-6.
Tickets are on sale through Tickets.com outlets at Tops Markets.

As we mentioned in our previous post, we’re in the process of changing the Buffalo Rising site. We’re almost there as we expect to launch the new site on Friday, December 19th.
In the meantime, posting will be light as we log new stories in the new publishing system which will only be viewable when we launch on Friday.
As always, we appreciate our users’ patience as we make this transition but we promise it will be well worth it. With faster load times, a comment view …

It is so sad to see her torn down. If only she could plague our landscape for another 40-60 years.
I think I got drunk for the first time in the downstairs parking garage underneath her belly. Alas, so long sweet lady....

Many fond memories, many good times. It's time to tear the old bitch down though and build the damn Erie Canal Harbor already. Glad to see the Donovan building gone even more.
