Dyngus Day Eats at The Central Terminal

At the Central Terminal's Dyngus Day Party (Monday, March 24th) there will be some local favorites and a couple big names as well. Bistro Europa will offer their famous hunter's stew, bigos, and the K Sisters will serve up their award winning pierogi. Ulrich's is in charge of Polish sausage, and Melanie's Sweets will be providing coffee, baked goods and sweets. All vendors accept cash, so there will be no need to wait in line at the ticket counter...unless you want to try either of the exclusive brews Flying Bison has crafted for Dyngus Day. Making their debut at the Central Terminal are Polonia Pilsner and Gdansk Dark. Additionally, Tyskie, an official sponsor of Dyngus Day Buffalo, will be on hand with plenty of their Polish import.
If beer isn't your thing, do not fret. Stop by the Chateau Buffalo booth for an assortment of hard cidres and their new hot, mulled wine. Or you may want to locate the Sobieski ice bar where Sobieski Vodka will be partying.
I could go on and on about the new heating system, expanded parade, or the Sobieski shuttle buses that will be shuttling folks to all the great East Side parties, but I have to go break in my polka shoes. See you at the Terminal!

You know how sometimes you have a conversation with someone and come away with the impression that things are good, and everything is as it should be? After I spoke with the Cichocki Brothers at Camellia Foods, a 3rd generation Polish Sausage and Ham producer in Buffalo, I came away knowing that at the center of everything they do is Family Tradition—as it should be.
The Cichocki brothers, Peter, Patrick and Eric, are at the helm of their Grandfather Edmund’s business that h …
Last month, when I asked readers to list five places they couldn’t live without, several folks mentioned Amy’s Place. A few of them specifically recommended the Margie Meal. So it was with great anticipation that I recently made my first visit to this very cool establishment. Why it took me so long to try this place, I’ll never know. Suffice to say that I’m already looking forward to my next meal there.
I liked the vibe right away when I noticed a sign on the wall that sa …
A muse is intended to inspire, and this restaurant certainly will encourage one's own imagination. Playful dishes blur the suggested lines between modern and classic, sweet and savory, and the even the line between food and art.
A beautiful complement to one of our city’s greatest treasures, Muse at the Albright-Knox, is a perfect start or end to a day of stirring your senses. Sophisticated and subtle, the ambience of Muse’s space fits the Albright well--modern yet invit …
On a recent summer afternoon I had the pleasure of meeting with one of Buffalo’s leading chefs, Jennifer Boye. My visit with Jennifer took place in the Fireside Salon of The Mansion on Delaware Avenue where she is currently the Executive Chef for special events.
During our conversation I learned that Chef Boye, who is Buffalo born and raised, began her career in 1997. After graduating from the Erie Community Collage Culinary Arts Department she started working for one of her i …

v. cool. I've oft wondered what hair of the dog remedy works on Dyngus Day following my typical wicked-Easter peeps bender.
Hey, does Central Terminal sell their WPAesque event prints? (if not, please do! plaque mount them at Poster Art!)

As someone who blindly spent years going to Hearthstone Manor and various other VFW type Cheektowaga venues, only after last year did I realize I WAS MAKING A HUGE MISTAKE NOT GOING TO THE EAST SIDE!!!!!!!!
Wow! What a blast it is in the Broadway/Fillmore/Terminal area! Unlike most Cheektowaga venues, you CAN bring your squirt gun to the east side.

You forgot about Strawberry Island Chocolates! They have been at the Broadway Market for 7 Easters, and now 3 Years full time. (they were mentioned in an article a week ago mentioning that they use the 50yr old recipe for Charlie Chaplin)... They will be participating in the Dyngus Day parade as they did last year, throwing candy to the crowds. They will also be at the Central Terminal!!
Dygnus Day on the East side is back STRONG!!!!! We spent last year all over St Stans, the Library and a few cold minutes in the Terminal (THEY HAVE HEAT THIS YEAR).... It was SO much better than the past several years trolling far away bars all over cheektowaga. Wear something you plan on getting wet (at the Library) and Those Idiots are the best live gig to see on Dyngus Day

"Hey, does Central Terminal sell their WPAesque event prints?"
If by that you mean our annual posters, yes!
We had heat last year, but in such a cavernous space, it was imperceptible. We do have an improved heating plan this year, but I would strongly advise to dress warmly if you are planning on staying at the terminal for awhile.

knubb2,
The information for the article came from directly the Central Terminal. If Strawberry Island is participating, we weren't made aware of that. We certainly wouldn't have intentionally left them out.

:) thanks... we are very excited about Dyngus Day this year, last year was awesome, and I saw many more people than I expected lined up for the parade.. hopefully this year there will even be more. The central terminal is just one place to hang out, there will be a shuttle heading to all the party locations, and every location honors each others entry fee!
