Buffalo painters Kara Daving, Cynnie Gaasch and Ani Hoover are each well known for their daring use of color and abstract properties. See for yourself this weekend at Studio Hart, where an opening reception for a show featuring the three artists' work will take place from 7-9 p.m., Friday, December 1. 5_bones-thumb.jpg Ani Hoover's drip paintings allow the medium its natural tendencies, creating graceful veils of interlacing colors. Ms. Hoover received her MFA from American University and BFA from Southwest Missouri State University and has shown extensively in the Washington, DC and Baltimore area, as well as locally at the Burchfield-Penney Art Center, Albright Knox Art Gallery, Castellani Art Museum, and Buffalo Arts Studio.

Cynnie Gaasch plays with symmetry and gravity in paintings that talk about balancing imperfections and will present recent works of watermedia on paper. Ms. Gaasch received her MFA from American University and BA from Hampshire College. Her work has been shown her work in Manhattan, Boston, Washington, DC, and Vermont, locally her work has been featured at Gallery 164.

Kara Daving will be showing selections of "Balloon Paintings" interlaced with environmentalist themes, the paintings are made of knotted balloons and brightly colored acrylic paint. Ms. Daving graduated from Bowling Green State University with a BFA. She is a resident artist at Buffalo Arts Studio and her work has been exhibited at Big Orbit, CEPA Gallery, Albright Knox Art Gallery, and Hallwalls Contemporary Arts Center.
