"Allentown MovesOe An International Dance Concert"

Folkloric Productions Dance Co., Inc, is a not-for-profit cultural organization that has been providing artistic services to the WNY area for over ten years, including ongoing classes for children & adults, community outreach programs, and school programs.
They also produce concerts featuring guest artist from all over the country, volunteering and collaborating with cultural organizations such as El Museo, Theater of Youth, Olmsted Parks Conservancy, New Phoenix Theater, World Connect, Allentown Association and others.
This Saturday, September 10th @ 8:00 pm Folkloric Productions presents "Allentown MovesOe An International Dance Concert" - featuring dances of Egypt, Panama, and South America. And who doesnit like listening to Flamenco music? Flamenco music comes from the soul, and there are many varieties of flamenco. Some types can tear your soul to shreds; others can bring you ecstatic ebullience. The ideal in flamenco is called "duende" (demon or elf), which refers to a state of emotional involvement, of group communication at a deeper level and a feeling of sympathy, between musicians, dancers and listeners.
Tickets are $20 advance, $23 at the door or $27 to attend the "After Theater Champagne Gala" at Allen Street Dance Studio. Advance tickets are available at Terrapin Station on Hertel Avenue. For more information, call 716-876-6291.

I don't know what everybody else thinks about this, but I was shocked to see that The Hyatt has filled in its fountain. Instead of having the water feature in front that became so identifiable over the years, now there is a big pine tree. I am most upset because I had heard recently that The Hyatt was just given a large sum of money to 'spruce' up the hotel. I'm sure that a spruce tree was not what anyone had in mind.

Ever since we ran this response (letter to the editor) on citizen action, I've received emails from even more people who want to get involved with Buffalo. A couple days ago Lauren Johnson sent an email asking how she could make a difference. We then decided to meet and discuss the opportunities for her (and others) to get involved.
