A Peep At The Peepshow
Last night Buffalo's Lenox Hotel and Squeaky Wheel hosted Peep Show; a party that brought together artists, voyeurs, revelers and film buffs. For those of us that have been missing the Artists and Models events, Peepshow is a welcome addition to Buffalo's ever-growing party portfolio. The show was rockin' until the wee hours of the morning, and set the tone for the city's fast approaching Marti Gras festival. This was really one of those 'You just had to be there' parties, so we've provided a slide show for you to take a peep at.

As we mentioned in our previous post, we’re in the process of changing the Buffalo Rising site. We’re almost there as we expect to launch the new site on Friday, December 19th.
In the meantime, posting will be light as we log new stories in the new publishing system which will only be viewable when we launch on Friday.
As always, we appreciate our users’ patience as we make this transition but we promise it will be well worth it. With faster load times, a comment view …
Caroline Kennedy was in town for a visit with our mayor yesterday. A possible choice to succeed US Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, Kennedy's name has been mentioned along with that of Attorney General Andrew Cuomo (son of former New York Governor Mario Cuomo) and our own Byron Brown, among others.
Certainly, Kennedy has "been around politics" all of her life, which is to say she was born into a family of politicos and lived in the White House--neither of which would necessarily f …
Free light rail rides on downtown's above ground section could be derailed thanks to the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority's budget mess. That is the news coming out of a Buffalo Place meeting this morning. Facing a budget shortfall and reduced State operating assistance, the NFTA is scrambling for new revenue sources and is contemplating charging for rides along the lengthy downtown pedestrian mall.
Well it is Christmas time in the city and the NFTA helped put people and especially children into the mood in a very festive and fun way. One of my favorite memories of childhood was taking the train downtown with my grandfather. I would gaze out the windows and watch the tunnel speed by. It always felt like we were going a million miles an hour.
Then there was the ability to stand up and walk around during the ride without the need to be strapped down. It was always a fun time …

What a WONDERFUL evening, squeeky wheel pulled off something so well done and organized with SO many venue's to pull from and things to do, NEVER a dull moment. I felt like I was at a house party as i knew so many people, what was the turnout?....and yes, this almost seemed like the opening ceremonies here in Buffalo for Mardi Gras. I would say that you people at squeeky wheel have just given red cross a run for their money as "best party of the year"!

Once I get over the trauma of being stuck in the elevator I can add additional comments on the party.

I had a great time at this interesting event. It was something different to do from the usual weekend activities around the city. Good job to Squeaky Wheel and I look forward to the next peepshow!

The party part was an absolute groove. Good peeps, good peepshow, good city views from the 8th floor. Girlfriend got goofy and bought a penis/vagina painting at the silent auction. A.J., where do you suggest we display a work of this nature? In a closet? Or in the front hall entryway? Let all visitors know right up front what we're all about. If I may make a general comment on the show, the overall mood struck me as dark, frustrated and desparate. What about the happy side? Very little laughter, happiness , joy, wonderment, dedication, passionate love, tenderness depicted in any of the installations. Nothing relative to young love, puppy love. No ode to the old timers/long time together people ( Imagine what they've been though). Apparently, for most of the participating artists, love is, indeed, a bitch. Just my impression.

Looked like fun. And wow, who's the goddess in slide 21? Her eyes are so warm, they're melting my screen.
