Kevin Gaughan believes the only way to fix Buffalo is through change and innovation. For the past 10 years heis spoken about ideas--traveled to talk to other civic leaders about them and coordinated forums for people to generate more. Ideas are his currency. He has a fluency, a facility with them that can make even the most jaded believe government (a smaller more efficient and responsive government) could help change things.
Some have written heis an idealist, but, as youire about to hear, they miss the point. He understands exactly where Buffalo is and how far it has to go. But he believes in the Cityis great promiseOeand heis dedicated to ideas because he knows they have the power to bring about change. He knows that be dedicating himself to those ideas, as opposed to aligning himself with special interests or promising away the city patronage job by union concession, he can help give rise to New Buffalo.

On Sunday, September 11, 2005, the City of Buffalo, the County of Erie, and the Buffalo Waterfront Community will jointly hold an early morning event located beside the Outlook Tower at the far end tip of Erie Basin Marina, titled: September 11th: Remembrance Ceremony and Freedom Celebration
This is the first joint City-County 9-11 remembrance ceremony to be held right at our waterfront. In addition to a ceremony of solemn remembrance, this year's theme appropriately expands upon itself to include a freedom celebration.

The New York State Society presents the 27th Annual New York State Society's Buffalo Night in Washington, DC.
Inauguration: In 1978, the Buffalo event started with modest beginnings in the Capitol, Room EF 100. Staffers from the offices of Representatives Kemp, LaFalce, and Nowak organized the event, and large, enthusiastic crowds spilled into the Capitol hallways at the inaugural event called "The Buffalo Party." The tradition exhibiting Buffalo pride through signature food and drinks in an event format was established. "The Buffalo Party" continued under the management of Western New York Congressional staffers through l985.
Evolution: Buffalo Chamber of Commerce ran the renamed "Buffalo Nig…

The Bills regular season kicks off on Sunday and it could not come any sooner for the 70,000 plus Weekend Warriors. As the players will be donning the throwback unis of yesteryear, the one constant for this years team is bringing back one of the NFL's stingiest defenses. The whole team is stressing on how important is to get off to a fast start and in order for that to happen, Losman is going to have to keep his emotions in check and trust that he has a championship caliber team surrounding him.
The Texans come in with similar playoff aspirations and are trying to make the leap into the upper echelon of the NFL. I like the match up of the Bills veteran D against a young Texan offense who is trying to find an identity. As far as the question mark surrounding Buffalo's young …
