The currently hot downtown housing market has prompted the owners of the Ansonia Centre apartments at the corner of Main and Tupper to put the property on the market. Hunt Real Estate has the 'condifidential opportunity' listed on its web page, but the description is too detailed to hide the true identity of the building in question.

Let's give some credit where it's due. Rick Snowden bought the Miller Mansion (the former Nichols Middle School) in April 2004. He paid close to $1 million for the 12,000 sq.ft. masterpiece on Nottingham Terrace overlooking Delaware Park. He's added this to the property.

They are commonly referred to as black plants and they are currently on display at the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens, until November 1.

Can living blacks really be black? Not truly, because the dark colors that our eyes see are actually a combination of red, purple, green, orange and yellow.

Leaves described as being eblacki contain a pigment called anthocyanin. Anthocyanins are plant pigments that reflect the red to blue range of the visible spectrum. The word anthocyanin is derived from two Greek words meaning plant and blue. These are naturally occurring compounds …

In just seven years, the country will be celebrating the beginning of the War of 1812 against Britain.
