As I was blading around the city this evening (after Thursday at the Square), I decided to roll up to the steps of City Hall. While sitting on the steps, I noticed another rollerblader racing around the circle. Hey it's always nice to see a fellow blader out for some fresh air. As he approached I noticed that he was wearing an Explore the Elmwood/Allentown t-shirt. For those of you that might not know, that was the original name of Buffalo Rising Magazine. Yes, we started off as E/A. And this rollerblader was wearing one of our original old-school t-shirts. What were the odds? It's not like we mass marketed these shirts. So I flagged him down and we started shooting the breeze. I really didn't want to interfere with his blade... so I demanded a photo op in front of city hall. Being a fellow blader and Buffalonian, he oblidged. After a few more words we shook hands, then parted ways. I bladed over to Prespa for a beer, and he bladed off into the depths of downtown. So what is the moral of this post? Remember when I said, "What are the odds?" Well, living in a place like Buffalo, the odds are pretty good. If you are from Buffalo, then you know what I'm talking about. I'll run into this guy again. And when I do, we'll shake hands and we'll shoot the breeze again.
