It must be that Iim getting old. Iive been on this nostalgia kick lately and I canit shake it. The Colored Musicianis Club and the old L L Bergeris which is now the Belasario. Last night, I fell asleep watching TV and woke up to Paul Hunteris beautiful sepia-toned paean to the 70is. And the first email I opened this morning contained a link to biniasz.com.

And all of a sudden, I was thinking of grade school field trips to Crystal Beach, walking past department storesi holiday window displays downtown, going to the Redlinskiis counter at the Broadway Market and sneaking into the Central Terminal in high school.

Martin Biniasz has pictures and stories for all those places and many more. On the homepage, he writes:

Buffalo has been called the "Queen City of the Lakes," "The City of Good Neighbors," and the "Nickel City." I have been fortunate to call Buffalo my "home." My hope with this site is to give you a look at the city that might be overlooked by even a lifelong resident of the Niagara Frontier. Many of Buffalo's treasures are found in historic neighborhoods away from the downtown core such as Black Rock, Kaisertown and the Eastside.

Some of my favorite sections are Polonia/Eastside, Last Call, Lost Buffalo and Central Terminal. Check it out. Any site that has a picture and mention of The Commander Tom Show and Tom Jolls on the homepage has to be cool.
