If you checked out BRO's Art Channel, then you know what went down at Griffis Studios last night. One of the things that made the Flash event such a good time was the 'design your own sculpture' feature that was incorporated into the evening. Seriously, all you had to do was draw an outline of the sculpture that you wanted the studio to fabricate, and viola! People were walking home with custom made sculptures under their arms... talk about interactive. It was a great scene. Picture a room filled with 'designers for a day', drawing their artwork then standing in front of their 'creations in progress', while donning welding glasses.
If you were in Buffalo this weekend, one thing is for sure... you just couldn't fit everything in. Between the KEPA3 opening on Barker, the music at Hardware, the Griffis Studio event, the Knox Friday Night Spectacular, Nina Freudenheim's art benefit at the Hotel Lennox, DJ's at the Left Bank, events at the Statler Golden Ballroom, Dave Ruch at the Peopleart Coffee House, man what a weekend.
Griffis Studios really hit the nail on the head last night. Variations of Flash should become monthly occurances over on Essex.
