Often times it can be tough to tell what a project will look like if all you have to go by is a 2-dimensional rendering. There is no depth, no scope, and we are left with a lot of imagination. Imagination can be useful, but when it comes to projects like Buffalo's Inner Harbor, additional graphic resources can come in handy. What will the water features really look like? What does it look like behind a building? Where are the open spaces?
Here is a short visual presentation that takes the viewer through some of the project's past before leading into its future. There are a number of still frames that show its overall relationship with the Outer Harbor, site dimensionality when compared to structures like the HSBC Arena and the skyway, and a couple historical shots for good measure. Then the presentation graduates to 3-D fly-through imagery that replaces the slide show with totally different perspectives. It's an opportunity to see, for yourself, the planned public spaces (or lack thereof), as well as the configurations of proposed Bass Pro and neighboring buildings. There are daytime and nighttime perspectives, so stick around for both.
