Art with Artists classes are designed for children ages four through sixteen, and taught by local artists and art educators. Let your child discover the wonders of the East. After touring the Gallery, students will return to the classroom to participate in related art activites, including the traditional art of sand paper art. Students will tour the Gallery to discover its hidden treasures, and create masterpieces of their own using traditional Chinese art forms, such as scratch art paper.
Classroom Zen Grades 3 through 5 Saturdays, October 15 November 19 11:30 A.M.-1 P.M. $65 Members / $80 non-members Instructor: Manya Fabiniak
This unique course focuses on the harmony of creative expression and meditative awareness. Using sumi ink painting, music, and meditation, students will unlock their creativity and hidden talents. After a group breathing exercise, the class will explore the Gallery s collection and special exhibition, and then return to the classroom to begin their own artistic creations. Following a group meditation exercise, young artists will tour the Gallery and learn to interpret the works of contemporary Chinese artists. The traditional technique of silk painting will help students unlock their own creative vision and artistic passion.
