Was Porter Avenue originally part of the east and west plank road?

It is excellent that one of our old unsung hero's of WNY gets public respect and recognition.

Also there should be a six gun salute fired at the plaque to honor him. He stood up against 1000 British regulars and native allies while younger men turned and retreated. This action might have been to cover the U.S. retreat. It cost him his life.
