Carl Paladinois Ellicott Development has plans for two of the four buildings it owns in the 1000 block of Main. One involves a demolition, the other is a conversion of a former gas station to a Quiznois. The firm purchased 1008, 1010, 1028 and 1030 Main in a series of transactions over the last two years. Work has begun on e888 Maini a new upscale restaurant and bar located at, you guessed it, 888 Main Street. Daniel Campieri, Heather Bennett and Rock Doyle are the owners/operators. The restaurant will be open for both lunches and dinners and have a 58-person seating capacity. They purchased the property from the City of Buffalo for an astonishing $20,000 in July 2005. In keeping with this week’s casino theme…What does the future hold for the former Fairmont Creamery Co. building at 199 Scott Street? Though many would consider it “progress” to see it gone, Ellicott Development, the current owner had bigger plans as recently as last year. Carl Paladino, has previously stated that he was planning to turn the building into lofts. Then again, Carl was also planning lofts for the H-O complex across the street. That building is now on its way to a landfill, truck-by-truck.
