Author: Buffalo Rising

Sometimes the authors at Buffalo Rising work on collaborative efforts in order to cover various events and stories. These posts can not be attributed to one single author, as it is a combined effort. Often times a formation of a post gets started by one writer and passed along to one or more writers before completion. At times there are author attributions at the end of one of these posts. Other times, “Buffalo Rising” is simply offered up as the creator of the article. In either case, the writing is original to Buffalo Rising.

For the most part, the facility is completely off the radar of most Buffalonians. At the same time, the complex has a storied past that makes the venue even that more interesting (more on that later). 33 independent…

Yesterday the Sabres made the one move that everyone seemed to know was coming. Jamie McGinn, the “throw-in” in the Ryan O’Reilly trade this past summer, was dealt to the Anaheim Ducks for a conditional 3rd round pick that will become a 2nd round pick if the Ducks make it to the Western Conference Finals. And if McGinn plays in over 50% of the minutes in the playoffs. I think that the chances of this happening are good and that overall it was a good deal for Tim Murray to make. I personally would have liked to hold on to…
