The University at Buffalo is hosting the second annual Art of Research competition, highlighting the innovative and groundbreaking work of its graduate students and postdoctoral scholars. The exhibition opening is tonight at the Buffalo Museum of Science from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A portion of the exhibition will be on display for the next month at the museum.
With 102 submissions spanning diverse disciplines and research areas, this year’s competition has once again underscored UB’s commitment to fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and creativity, and reflects UB’s leadership in research and advancing knowledge across various fields. Graduate students and postdoctoral scholars were asked to submit an original image that included anything produced while performing research, along with a title/caption and short description. Entries were evaluated based on creativity, aesthetic appeal, alignment with research themes, and the clarity of accompanying captions. Each research or research team was allowed to submit only one image this year.
“We are thrilled to host the second annual Art of Research competition at the University at Buffalo,“ said Graham Hammill, vice provost for academic affairs and dean of the Graduate School. “By highlighting the work of our graduate students and postdoctoral scholars through visually captivating images and engaging captions, the Art of Research competition not only celebrates their achievements but also inspires others to pursue innovative solutions to pressing challenges.”
