On December 3, artist Yegor Mikushkin will be making a special trip to Buffalo, to present his 3 dimensional works of art at Sugar City. The international acclaimed artist will al so painting “live” at the event, upon which time guests will be able to view the work-in-progress while wearing 3D glasses. After viewing the flowing, colorful works by the artists, I reached out to him to ask him about his inspirations, the process, and what it’s like to paint works in 3D.
“It’s like green flavored feelings,” he told me. “Loud tastes that remind you of tomorrow’s memories but without the stress of yesterday’s colorful sound. Influences work by existing. Because things exist, they influence my work. Do you exist, how do you influence? Not dying is my inspiration. Honestly [regarding the 3D], I’ve not even seen my work in those goggles, so I’m excited to see that. I’ve never painted wearing those goggles. My influences are dead people whose work is done and living people who keep on working.”
If that’s not enough to pique your interest in Mikushkin’s abstract work, then maybe you just need to come see the final effects, as they are presented at Sugar City.
