The Buffalo Beauts professional women’s hockey team will continue to make an enormous impact on the community during this Sunday’s game against Connecticut Whale. The Beauts are partnering with the Food Bank of WNY and Goodwill in order to collect canned food and coats for those in need.
Emily Pfalzer, defenseman and Captain of the Beauts states that “the amount of support the Beauts have received from the community has been unbelievable, which is why it is also so important for us to give back whenever we can. Sunday will provide us with a great opportunity to help those in need by donating canned food and winter coats.”
The game will take place on Sunday, November 15 at 3:30pm at HarborCenter. Fans who bring in five cans or a clothing item will receive $10 off a ticket to a future game.
“We are so grateful to the National Women’s Hockey League and HarborCenter for holding this wonderful food drive, which will benefit the 116,691 individuals who rely on the Food Bank of Western New York each and every month,” said Marylou Borowiak, President & CEO of the Food Bank of WNY. “The holiday season is a time of great need for many of the families we serve. The generosity of the National Women’s Hockey League, HarborCenter and the fans will help feed our hungry neighbors in need.”
