For the second year in a row, Healthy Buffalo is organizing a co-ed broomball league at Canalside. While last year was a success, it was also a learning year. This year the equipment has been upgraded and there will be heating stations for both teams, which is a big deal for players who want to keep warm when they are off the ice.
The great thing about broomball is that anyone can play. The game is challenging, but it’s also a lot of fun for everyone, no matter the skill level. The games are played after work, under the lights, with music piping over the speaker system. It’s a great way to meet new people, or bond with old friends.
Moving forward, there will be more and more winter activities hosted at Ice @ Canalside. From special events to amateur curling leagues.
The broomball league is something that you can count on each and every Monday, from November 30 to January 11 (7:30pm). There is no experience necessary, and the only equipment mandatory is a helmet (available for $15 for those who do not have one).
