AM&A’s was the department store in Downtown Buffalo that was known for its incredibly festive and detailed holiday window displays. In recent years some of the characters and set pieces have been making a comeback thanks the organization that now safeguards the collection – Buffalo Place. This year, the whimsical displays are making an appearance on Main Street at the Hyatt Atrium, where three windows have been dedicated to house the festive-looking merrymakers.
Not only is The Hyatt a temporary recipient of the former AM&A’s props, the owner/operator of Furnishings, Joe Incao, has participated in decorating his windows with the throwback characters. Incao also commissioned the crew from Solid 716 to fabricate a spinning display tree, which they delivered earlier in the week. The windows look smashing.
Incao says that his hope is to have additional windows on the 500 Block of Main Street decorated next year during the holiday season, until there is a uniform festive look in the downtown neighborhood. Hopefully that would mean a few more retailers taking interest in opening on that section of Main Street.
