One of the greatest all time horror flicks is being featured at the North Park Theatre this Halloween. Director Sam Raimi’s low-budget classic, The Evil Dead (1981), is sure to draw a crowd of b-movie film fans who have been craving to catch this epic evil adventure on the big screen. The only problem with The Evil Dead is that once you have seen it, you can’t go back and unsee it.
Raimi produced this film with Bruce Campbell, who also stars in the film. Raimi and Campbell were childhood friends who came together to make this film, which went on to become one of the most renowned and influential cult films of all time.
This film has its scary moments, its humorous moments, and some moments that are almost indescribable… at the time when the movie was released, many viewers did not know exactly what they were in for. The movie is a wild ride and a bit over the top in many ways… even 30 years after its initial screening.
“The most ferociously original horror movie I have ever seen.” – Stephen King
