University at Buffalo got a big boost today. Boston Bruins owner and Delaware North chairman, Jeremy M. Jacobs, made a $30 million donation to the Medical School, which will secure the family naming rights – the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.
According to Boston Bruins TV, this is the first time that UB has ever named a school after an individual/family. Jacobs attended UB (Business School), and his financial contributions to the university now total $50 million.
The $30 million donation goes a long way towards the overall $200 million campaign. UB is now 80% of the way ($160 million) towards reaching its goal. The school is on track to be completed in 2017. For more info, click here.
