It’s not that often that a gallery hosts an event that turns out to be a series of dance performances. But that’s exactly what’s going down at 464 Gallery on September 26 from 6:00-10:00 pm. On that evening, a plethora of dance groups and dancers will come together to participate in wide-ranging performances, showcasing the diverse spectrum of dancers/routines that are found in and around Buffalo.
Participating dance groups/individuals include Foxy Diamondz, bellydancer Eirene, Mone’ Dance Company, Converge Dance, Chris Titus and T.E.I.N. aka James Levy.
Dance Days offers a fresh look at the dance in Buffalo. The group looks forward to creating a unified dance community, through performances, workshops, and networking events – the Dance Days event is a precursor fundraiser for a three day dance festival that will take place in Buffalo (August 2016). In turn, the festival (Dance Days of Buffalo) will raise money for dance scholarships. The event/festival intends to amplify an already strong local dance scene, which will help to connect Buffalo’s dance community with others throughout the Northeast – similar to the way a regional music festival might work.
The stronger the local dance community is, the more opportunities will unfold for the artists.
“Veteran dancer, Jessica Moore, a true innovator in dance, has branched out on her own to create this event and Dance Festival,” says Maria Provenzano of the Foxy Diamondz dance troupe. “Her love of festivals and dance collided, and she created Dance Days of Buffalo. This is the very first fundraiser for the festival. It’s also the first time that all these local dance companies will be brought together in unison – the event is dedicated to dance in Buffalo.”
Tickets are available at www.dancedaysofbuffalo.com for $15.00.
