Today is the biggest day for theater in Buffalo – Curtain Up! It’s a day when theaters are packed, the excitement of the season permeates the city, and downtown restaurants look forward to accommodating theater goers.
Aside from all of the opening shows today, starting at 8pm, the Theatre District Association of WNY also hosts a free street party filled with live music and street performers – 600 block of Main Street (between Tupper and Chippewa).
Food trucks will join the theater district restaurants, along with special guests, an open air photo booth and theatrical fun. The party starts at 10pm and ends at 1pm, allowing for plenty of time to meet up with friends and family.
This year marks the 34th year of Curtain Up!
