Signs of the Pan Am Exposition are all around us. While the expo was marred by a tragic presidential death, the overall pomp and circumstance had a long-lasting effect on this city, which remains with us to this day. Similar to what might happen to a city that nabs the Olympics, Buffalo was forever changed as breathtaking buildings came and went, even leaving a few permanent structures in its wake.
For those of us who get a kick out of the Pan Am – the stories, the exhibits, the grounds – Forest Lawn Cemetery, in collaboration with the Buffalo History Museum, is hosting a Pan American Exposition trolley tour (or two). The next upcoming tour takes place on Saturday, August 15 at 10 am, starting from Forest Lawn. There will be a stopover at the Buffalo History Museum, where guests will be treated to a showing of “The Spirit of the City” interactive exhibit. Explore Pan-Am grounds, and lunch at the Pan American Brewery within the Hotel @ The Lafayette.
