The school to apartment conversion trend continues, this time in the University Heights District. New York City-based CB-Emmanuel Realty LLC is proposing to convert the City-owned former School 63/Campus North School at Cordova and Minnesota avenues into 47 apartments.
The two-story, 42,466 sq.ft. school was built in 1930 and closed in 2007. Carmina Wood Morris is designing the ‘Lofts @ University Heights’ project for CB-Emmanuel. The City Planning Board will be reviewing the project at its September 8 meeting.
Several other new projects are also on the Planning Board agenda including:
- Seneca/Babcock Community Center – 82 Harrison. New community center and medical clinic.
- Lofts @ 400 – 400 N. Oak Street. Rocco Termini’s micro apartment project with 76 units at N. Oak and E. Tupper streets.
- 490-492 Elmwood. Rocco Termini’s makeover of the former Faherty’s and Toro restaurants.
- Lexington Co-Op – 1607-1678 Hertel Avenue. Renovation and addition to former CVS for the Co-op’s second location.
- 137 Chapin Parkway. New single-family dwelling.
The Planning Board meets at 8:15 am in City Hall Room 901.
