Craft beer lovers attending the 14th annual Buffalo Brewfest this Friday should plan on heading to the Historic Cobblestone District as organizers will again close down Illinois Street for the event. Last year, event organizers decided to move the event outside and onto Illinois Street to make it more of a street festival.
“Last year more than 1700 people attend the Buffalo Brewfest.” commented Daniel Mecca, Buffalo Hearing & Speech Center board member and Buffalo Brewfest co-chairman. “People really enjoyed the outdoor setting, so we decided to again host the event in the Cobblestone District.”
The event will feature a selection of more than 100 craft beers by local, regional, national and international brewers. This year, organizers have expanded not only the beer selection, but also will feature some of Western New York’s most popular food trucks. To accommodate the large crowd and food trucks, Illinois Street and parts of South Park Avenue will be closed to vehicle traffic for the event.
Tickets for the event are $30 and include admission to the event, 20 tasting coupons (each tasting is three ounces) and a souvenir glass. Tickets can be purchased online at buffalobrewfest.com.
Attendees must be 21 or over and the event will be held rain or shine on Friday August 7th from 5:00 pm – 9:30 pm (Facebook page).
All proceeds from the 2015 Buffalo Brewfest will benefit Buffalo Hearing & Speech Center. Buffalo Hearing & Speech Center, a not-for-profit organization, is a comprehensive diagnostic and treatment center for children and adults with speech-language and hearing problems. The Center employs more than 300 staff members, including full and part time licensed Speech-Language Pathologists, Audiologists, Occupational and Physical Therapists, Teachers and Teacher Aides.
