Just Buffalo Literary Center (JBLC) is celebrating its 40 Year Anniversary. That’s 40 years of bringing writers and poets to Buffalo. It’s 40 years of enlightening and teaching the creative talent stock that we have in Buffalo. And it’s 40 years of hosting public events such as the Silo City Reading Series.
The reading series embraces our industrial heritage by putting it into the spotlight, allowing readings and music performances to take place inside cavernous grain silos found along the Buffalo River.
JBLC has produced a short video that shows the audible and visual impact that is created each time a poet takes the stage. The last reading series featured poets Zachary Schomburg and Alana Kelley, Small Houses musicians, and a photography installation by Nick Torsell.
Next up, on Friday, July 17th, the series will feature poets Catherine Wagner and Lillian-Yvonne Bertram, with an art installation and music by Flatsitter.
These readings are free and open to the public. Details here.
