On Friday, July 17, our community will come together to support the four historically black churches in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Tennessee, that were burned last month.
Buffalo will be joining together, with cities and citizens throughout the nation, to raise funds for the rebuilding effort. The “Rebuild the Churches” event is sponsored by Coalition for Economic Justice, the Buffalo Anti Racism Coalition, and members of the faith community. The fundraiser will be held at Sweet_ness 7 on Grant Street from 6-8pm.
It’s not only time to rebuild the churches, it’s time to come together as a nation, to combat prejudice, racism, and the ill effects that it has on our neighborhoods.
“We are joining a nationwide “Rebuild the Churches” effort that features dozens of churches and thousands of individuals that are standing together in solidarity to raise money so that the congregations of these churches can have some sort of solace during this troubling time.” – Coalition for Economic Justice
