Another downtown area commercial property has traded hands. Ellicott Development Company’s 8112 Group LLC purchased 207 W. Huron Street Pooley, Inc.’s building at 207 W. Huron Street. Ellicott paid Gary Kyte, Pooley Inc. president, $300,000 for the site.
It is unknown if Pooley is staying or what the long-term future holds for the 18,156 sq.ft. building and .4 acre property. (UPDATE: The transaction was a sale/lease-back and Pooley will be relocating according to Kyte in the comments below.) The site is strategically located on a main entryway into downtown and has frontage on both W. Huron and Georgia streets. Kissling’s W. Huron Lofts is located next door and the property is located in the West Village Historic Preservation District.
Pooley, Inc. was founded in 1932 by Samuel H. Pooley as a custom fabrication conveyor belt shop. Today it supplies belting, hose, casters, power transmission, and material handling equipment.
