204 Bidwell Parkway, in Buffalo’s Elmwood Village neighborhood, made a brief appearance on the real estate multiple listings last month. It was listed for sale, asking $369,500, on June 24, 2015, but was apparently pulled the same day. It still shows up on a few real estate web sites. Several of them peg its value from about $500K to just under $600K, which may explain why the listing with the low price was pulled. Or, was it sold in one day?
At less than $400,000 the mansion would be a steal. It is loaded with original detail including tones of millwork, several fire places, and giant elegant rooms. Bonus, the house sits on an unusually long 9,583 square foot wooded back yard, which includes a wonderful bird house tower. The house has $4,206 square feet of space with six bedrooms, three and a half baths, and was built in 1905. It appears to need a lot of work but is amazingly intact after what looks like a long period of disuse and neglect. Many of the rooms, especially the butler’s pantry with original fixtures, give a sense of being frozen in time. It last sold in July 2004 at $290,000

These are the kind of houses that are becoming rare opportunities in Buffalo. They are in high demand and when they come on the market they sell very fast. If you want this one you might be too late or perhaps it will show up again. If so I would wager the asking price will be higher.
