Buffalo clothing designer Molly Hoeltke is launching a new line of apparel on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at Modern Nostalgia, located at 1378 Hertel Avenue. For years, Molly has been one of the leading fashion forward players in this city, and has been involved with numbers fashion-related ventures locally.
Now Molly is in the midst of branching out, with a new clothing line that is gaining traction steadily. The launch event will feature many of her latest designs.
“The launch party is a celebration of my first season in stores,” says Molly. “This year I started manufacturing in a factory here in Buffalo and launched my wholesale label “Once And For All – OAFA” which is currently in 10 shops on the East Coast, including my host shop for the “launch” evening, Modern Nostalgia. Adjoining store, Blue Collar, is also launching a new space with jewelry designer Gretchen Meyers. It’s called “Makers”, which will showcase her jewelry line “Pegs Hardware”. They will host awesome DIY classes as well.”
“Makers was a brainchild that came to fruition mainly because it is something that I would love to do,” stated Gretchen. “With the enormous popularity of Pinterst and anything DIY, I saw an opportunity in the Buffalo market to try this out. A little over a year later we’re still kicking and now opening up our own space behind Blue Collar on Hertel Avenue. The greatest part about Makers is the constant evolution of what it is and can be. The name says it all, Makers really encompasses anything from making a quartz spike necklace to collaborating with a good friends local furniture line (Wrafterbuilt) and building a custom lath coffee table. The store is set up to have people flex their creative mussels, we just give them the supplies and tools to do so.”
