If there was ever a day that we could use some peace, love, and understanding, it’s today. This day weighs heavy on all of our souls, after hearing about the horrendous church shootings that took place in Charleston. Even the sun had a hard time peeking through the overcast skies.
On Sunday, June 28, 2015, at 1pm, people will be gathering and then marching peacefully, starting at Delaware Park, behind the Albright-Knox. The march, plainly speaking, is all about delivering a positive message to the community. The message? “You are beautiful.”
Marchers will be handing out small strips of paper with messages of love, along with flowers… or even a bagged lunch for someone who is homeless. People are asked to spread the message with one less honk, holding a door for someone, or offering a smile when passing someone on the street.
Bring the kids. Rally your friends. Collect some flowers, or stickers, or baked goods. Bring something with you that will make someone else happy. Help to spread the message. Be a part of something special. Do it for yourself, or for someone you love. Do it for someone that you have never met. Just do it… and watch the ripple effect take hold.
