Principal Master Planner Ralph Tharp recently sent along a link to his article that was published in ThisBigCity in 2014. In the article, Tharp attempts to come up with some new branding ammo for Rust Belt cities such as Buffalo and Detroit.
We’ve broached this topic before on BRO, only to see readers go into auto-defensive mode, which is completely understandable. In Tharp’s article, he talks about co-branding Buffalo and Niagara Falls. His feeling is that Buffalo should be looking to capitalize on the fact that we have such a magnificent, world renowned natural feature on our doorstep. In the past, others have tried to co-brand Buffalo with Niagara Falls, and a number of other nearby cities – Torbuffchesterton Falls for example.
For those who like to read about aggressive branding strategies such as the one that Tharp is suggesting – Buffalo Falls – you can read the article by clicking here.
