The Greater Buffalo American Red Cross is busy gearing up for BASH*2015, which takes place this Friday. Each year thousands of people get dressed up in military gear that harkens back to the days of the hit TV show M*A*S*H. It’s a chance to dress as one of the memorable characters, from Hot Lips Houlihan to Klinger. Or you can simply throw on a pair of military fatigue pants and join in on the fun.
As much as the BASH is known as one of the most “rockinist” of parties, 2015 will be the first year that headliner Lance Diamond will be missing from the mix. Instead of partying along with Lance, the crowd will be honoring the man in the form of a Lance Tribute.
There are very few artists that could pull off such an undertaking, but the BASH committee has pulled a rabbit out of the hat by tapping national recording artist Caitlin Koch to sing at the military-themed gig. Not only did Caitlin sing at Lance’s memorial at Kleinhans Music Hall, along with the 24 Karat Diamond Band, she has shared similar local music circuits with Lance over the years. If there was anyone who would be qualified to step up and deliver a high energy Lance-inspired performance, I believe that we have found our gal.
Don’t forget, the BASH is not just a great party, it’s a crucial fundraiser for the Red Cross. In 2015, the event raised over $300,000 to support Red Cross Emergency Services.
BASH*2015 General Admission tickets are $75 each or two for $125, and are available online at www.redcross.org/
