Music Day, the last day of the Cherry Blossom Festival is Saturday, May 9th from 12- 4pm. If sitting under a canopy of pink and white cherry blossoms, listening to the likes of Nickel City String Band, The Heenan Brothers and Sara Elizabeth Schall perform, makes you smile, then you’ll want to move this to the top of the list of things to do this weekend.
In addition to the musicians in the garden, a ‘Cherry Pit’ tent will have ‘Cherry Jam’ sessions. From 12-3pm, musicians will be leading ‘jam’ sessions. All levels of musicians are invited to bring their instruments and make some sweet music while jammin’. Just stop in and play.
After you are stroll the Japanese Garden and enjoy the music, you can take a pink boat ride on Mirror Lake, dance the May pole or march in a pink parade to close the 2015 Festival.
The blossoms are nearly in full bloom so if you haven’t visited yet, what are you waiting for? If you have visited, why not stop by and take one last photo of the blossoms at their peak. The Buffalo Cherry Blossom Festival is located in the Japanese Garden, adjacent to The Buffalo History Museum. Events in the Japanese Garden during the Festival are free.
