There’s something very heartwarming about seeing kids riding their bikes en masse. In a day and age when sitting in front of a TV, smart phone or computer is considered a common way to pass the time, there is a push to get kids back outside to get active. That’s where Kidical Mass Buffalo comes into play.
Kidical Mass Buffalo is like the Slow Roll (or Critical Mass), but centered around kids. It’s a family-friendly ride that takes place this Saturday at the Delaware Park Rose Garden. Starting at 10:30am, cyclists will embark on a group ride that demonstrates the joy of cycling the city, while socializing with some unfamiliar faces. Cyclists will explore the side streets of the Elmwood Village and the Upper West Side.
The ride is part of a national movement that has swept the country in recent years. The ride also helps young cyclists to better understand the rules of the road, in a safe and responsible way. Parents participating in the event should consider the best way to ride with their kids, whether that’s with child seats, trailers, trail-a-bikes, longtail cargo bikes, box or bucket bikes or tandems.
Most importantly, the objective of Kidical Mass is to have a good time. Join the group and enjoy Buffalo streets from an entirely different perspective.
Kidical Mass Buffalo is a recreational ride for all ages. The event is free and open to everyone.
