A piece of the Joseph Ellicott Local Preservation District has sold. NY 300 Main Investors LLC purchased the property at 300 Main Street on Friday for $455,000. The building was sold by Jay Rosenthal, David Siegel, and Joseph Muenkel whose law firm Rosenthal, Siegel, & Muenkel, LLP occupies the building’s office space. It was first listed in 2009 with an $850,000 asking price.
The four-story, 15,000 sq.ft. structure fronts both Main Street and Cathedral Park and was built between 1871-1891 and is known as the S.G. Austin Building. NY 300 Main Investors is registered with a Budd Lake, New Jersey mailing address. Their plans for the property are unknown but Rosenthal, Siegel, & Muenkel had been willing to consider a sale-leaseback deal so a change of use may not be in the offing.
