The re-cladding of the US Customs Commercial Secondary Building – the building housing Peace Bridge custom brokers and US Customs, appears to be nearing completion.
Along with the re-cladding, a small addition is also being constructed.
The side of the building facing Front Park is a mix of local Boston Valley Terra Cotta tiles (cream in color) and Trespa (Netherlands) high-pressure laminate (HPL) plate (dark wood in color).
Before the process got underway, the Public Bridge Authority was offered, by Boston Valley, a deal to clad the the entire facade with locally made, longer lasting, earth friendly tiles that would have matched the Trespa cost, but the offer was declined.
